Historic Order of India : AIR INDIA Ordered 500 Aircrafts
HISTORIC ORDER OF INDIA : 500 AIRCRAFTS ORDERED, NO ONE ORDER BEFORE LIKE THIS
According to reports, the purchase calls for 400 narrow-body aircraft and 100 or more wide-body aircraft, including the Airbus A350 and the Boeing 787 and 777. At list prices, the transaction might be worth more than $100 billion.
According to Reuters, the acquisition would still be worth tens of billions of dollars even after hefty anticipated cuts.
The merger may also elevate Air India to the second-largest domestic and international carrier in the nation.
The purchase is timed to coincide with Tata Group's announcement that Air India and Vistara will merge to become a larger full-service airline in the aviation industry.
JRD Tata founded Air India in 1932, and it became a national carrier in 1953. After regaining ownership of the airline in January, Tata has been attempting to rehabilitate it as a premier airline.
In order to expand and replace their current fleet in the aviation industry with the fastest rate of growth, Air India plans to buy these 500 jets over the next ten years.
Experts caution that a number of obstacles, such as a lack of domestic infrastructure, a shortage of pilots, and competition from well-established carriers, will prevent Air India from achieving its goals.
Furthermore, given that the European aircraft manufacturer is sold out until 2028 or later, the airline might find it difficult to get the medium-haul Airbus A321neos it has purchased for the Air India-Vistara alliance as swiftly as it would like.
